If a collaboration already exists between the student’s advisor and a KAUST faculty colleague from another university the student should present their interest to their advisor, who is responsible for discussing with the colleague at KAUST, defining the project details, and approaching their dean for endorsement.

A student can be considered a Dual Degree candidate before starting the first year at KAUST or within the first year at KAUST.
During periods of residence, incoming students will receive the KAUST Fellowship offered to graduate students:
Applications for the Dual Degree program are open all year long.
If the candidate is already enrolled at KAUST, they must have been enrolled for no longer than one year.
My first experience of KAUST was through a VSRP program and an internship program. I was amazed by KAUST, its people and variety of research fields, so I decided to apply for the Ph.D. program after the internship.
